With the successful delivery of the first of three private yachts that each measure well over 300-feet long, the Italian superyacht shipyard Benetti is doing things that probably no other megayacht builder has ever done. They not only built three different yachts over 350-feet long simultaneously. They launched them all within 100 days of each other as well.
And the sheer scale of this new yacht is impressive. It has a steel hull, aluminum superstructure and a naval architecture by Pierluigi Ausonio. Its fuel tank capacity of nearly 100,000 gallons and enormous twin engines, allows the yacht to cut through the water at 18.5 knots and cover nearly 6,500 miles without needing to refuel. It’s also equipped with an electric Schottel stern SPJ pump jet that allows it to travel distances powered entirely by electric propulsion.
But it’s the uber luxurious accommodations that really illustrate just how big this yacht is. From the large heated swimming pool on the main deck, to the long list of toys and tenders including: two, 55-foot-long speedboats, 32-foot-long custom tender, 8 jet skis, and more 11,000 square feet of deck area is devoted to luxurious outdoor living spaces.
The observation deck is the best place for stargazing. The bridge deck’s enormous fire pit sets the scene for cozy nights at sea. The owner’s deck features its own private al fresco dining and relaxation areas, while main deck’s vast dining table provides the perfect setting for dining under the stars.
“The exterior design of FB275 epitomizes all that RWD strive for in our designs – elegance, beauty, attention to detail and absolute quality in every surface and sweeping curve” said Adrian Chisnell, Team Principal at RWD. “Many years in development, the exterior lines were created to portray a purposeful and powerful stature yet with a timeless flowing silhouette. Significant engineering accomplishments on board coupled with such an elegant exterior form, masterfully crafted by Benetti create a unique statement – of which RWD’s whole team are incredibly proud.”
“I’m extremely proud of the progress we’ve made at Benetti. We’ve worked hard to innovate and develop efficiency in all aspects of our business – from our organizational processes to our construction methods. The launch in exactly 100 days of 3 Giga yachts, each one over 100 meters in length and build in parallel here in Livorno are a statement of this progress” said Fusignani, Benetti CEO.
“Under the supervision of Maria Rosa Remedi, from Benetti Interior Style Department, Mauro Izzo and his team worked tirelessly on this yacht’s interiors design for 500,000 work hours. Focusing on processes has allowed us to take a big step into the future of large yacht building – all while maintaining a quality of Giga yacht that we are proud to brand Made in Italy.”
With their first “gigayacht” now delivered to her owners, the handover of their next two yachts follow shortly.
