Drake has fired back at his dad’s hurtful comments about his music.
Dennis Graham, the father 32-year-old rapper whose real name is Aubrey Graham, recently claimed in a radio interview that his son’s lyrics referencing their strained relationship are made up, and that when he asked the superstar why he would say such things, Drake told him it was just because it sells records.
But Drake took to Instagram with his side of the story, posting this note which reveals that his “father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him”. It’s sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that’s the people we are stuck with…” Drake then concludes by promising his fans that every bar he “ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept”.
The R&B singer’s parents divorced when he was five, and though he did visit his dad sometimes, they had limited contact until later in life, as Dennis served several stints in prison.
