When celebs are asked “Who are you wearing?”, it’s a perfect opportunity for unknown brands to get their name out. Here are our Top 3 red carpet moments that rocketed designers to fame.

At number three, it’s Rodarte. 2011 Oscar winner Natalie Portman showed off her growing baby bump in a flowing purple gown from sibling designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who later described it as a pivotal moment in their careers.

On the second place we find Zuhair Murad. These days the designer is a red-carpet staple, but it actually wasn’t until JLo wore one his creations to the Golden Globes in 2011, and again in 2013 and 2015, that he gained his A-list following.

And our top spot goes to Elie Saab. Saab was relatively unknown to the fashion industry, but that changed in 2002 when Halle Berry chose one of his dresses for the Oscars. Berry went on to win that night, and Saab instantly became a red-carpet icon.
